Contact and Official Records

Lake County Court Docket is a private reference. Official docket, case-file, certified-copy, and court-date requests belong with the court or clerk that maintains the case. The channels below distinguish Common Pleas records from Probate, Juvenile, and municipal court records.

This is not a court or government office. This private reference cannot access case files, change a setting, issue a certified copy, remove a case, or give legal advice. Contact the actual record custodian for each of those requests.

Need an Official Docket or Record?

For General Division, Domestic Relations, or Eleventh District records, start with the Lake County Clerk of Courts Legal Division at the West Annex, 25 North Park Place, Painesville, OH 44077. The phone number is (440) 350-2657, and published Legal Division hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding federal holidays. The Clerk’s official site links its Court Record Search and public-records instructions.

  • General Division or Domestic Relations docket: use the Lake County case lookup, then the Clerk for a record request or date confirmation.
  • Certified or unavailable General/DR document: email coc@lakerecordrequest.org with the case number and documents requested.
  • Probate matter: use Probate eServe or contact the Probate clerk at 25 North Park Place, (440) 350-2626.
  • Juvenile matter: contact the Juvenile Court Clerk at 53 East Erie Street, Painesville, (440) 350-3000; access limits apply.
  • Municipal docket or ticket: contact Mentor, Painesville, or Willoughby Municipal Court rather than the Common Pleas Clerk.
  • Court date: use the court’s docket or calendar, then the assigned court or clerk, as explained under Court Dates.

The Lake County municipal-court directory identifies the local court for Mentor, Painesville, and Willoughby territories. A ticket or court paper normally identifies the relevant court. For access, parking, entry, or recording questions that are not published, call the court before visiting.
